Along with being widely regarded as the world's first modern novel, Cervantesí Don Quixote is also a loving and brilliantly funny tribute to both the power of literature and the joy of the imagination. Inspired by the era's great tales of chivalry, the noble knight-errant Don Quixote de la Mancha sets out upon his mighty steed, Rocinante, to right wrongs and protect the have-nots of 16th-century Spain. Although his adventures are often fantastic in nature, the book's enduring appeal is very real indeed.

This traditional dance from the South American Andes Mountains of Peru that predates the Spanish is a magical expression of the Andean religion, honoring the "Apus", the mountains. A show dubbed "500 year-old break-dancing!" Scissors Dancing is a one-on-one competition between acrobatic dancers while playing a two pound steel scissors like instrument in one hand. The competition is also musical between the violinist and harpist that play these "western" instruments like you have never seen.

The Scissors Dancers of Peru returned to Seattle, but this time with women dancers. Their tour included visits to schools, colleges, universities and several Washington State reservations to share native traditions.
